Following the original stone path through the formal rose garden you get the first glimpse of the beautiful surroundings of Bishopswood House.

On entering the house through the gothic stone arch and solid oak carved doors the stunning Entrance Hall and sweeping staircase will catch your eye.

Casting your eye to the right you will see our elegant Dining Room with period fireplace and soft furnishings, a perfect place to unwind and reminisce over the events and highlights of your special day.

The Ballroom with its elegant chandeliers and powder blue walls makes a perfect backdrop for your special day. Capable of seating 90 guests for a classic wedding breakfast, we are totally flexible to meet the needs of your perfect day.

For those with larger numbers an elegant marquee can be added to the house giving you extra flexibility and space to cater for your guests.

The Grand Hall and sweeping staircase which was thought to be designed by Sir Christopher Wren dates back to circa 1625. At the very centre of the house it is an obvious choice to serve your welcome drinks.

The Grand Hall also boasts a glass dome ceiling which after dark will glow to give an almost magical feel to the evening arrangements.

Our newly refurbished bar serves a fantastic selection of wines, spirits and beer.

Our Ceremony Room is available for Civil Ceremonies at no extra charge giving you the flexibility and choice that Bishopswood House prides itself on.

If our Ceremony Room is your choice and the sun is shining, you may like to enter by strolling along the garden path, taking in the breathtaking views with the sweet smell of the lavender borders and trailing honeysuckle.

A favourite with our younger guests! The bell can be rung prior to your grand entrance into our Ceremony Room.

The Ceremony Room also doubles up as our fully equipped Conference Room, providing the perfect setting for all your conferencing and training needs.

All of our bedrooms are furnished to the highest standard in keeping with the elegance that Bishopswood House has to offer.

Each bedroom has its own unique character, no two rooms are the same with great attention being paid to the decor throughout.

The bathrooms like the bedrooms are all different, ranging from the elegant to the quirky “duck bathroom”.

Cool blues and blissful views whilst relaxing in a steamy bubble bath.

Locally hand crafted and carved Four Poster, decorated with autumnal colours.
